I originally played this game 30 mins after its first release over a year ago. just came back today to see the changes, although it's still just a demo, I loved the added features! really hope this gets made into a full game (would especially love to see multiplayer!) either way had fun streaming it
any idea when the release date for the full game will be?
I just played part way through the steam demo. Everything is in place for this game to be very good. Not sure exactly what the end goal is but the base gameplay is amazing. It feels a bit linear, at least to start, and I get why, but I feel like a bit more of a nonlinear feel would push this over the edge to great. The writing could use a bit more brevity. These things aside I loved what I played and look forward to when this releases.

We've been travelling quite a bit to showcase the game in as many related events as we could lately, while staying hard at work at developing the rest of the game content - it'll still take a while to complete, but do stay tune for more updates on the project :D

I tried to kill the cat by landing on him with my spaceship, but it softlocked me - the quest to capture him was left unfinished, and when I left, the game seemed to think I captured him. I was so sure that was the way to get him, too...

Awesome Demo! The art style fits the cozy mood perfectly. Lil Beef loved his space cat he named "Big Chungus". The characters were definitely vibing in a good way. The planets were fun to explore and having them go in a full circle cut down on backtracking which was a smart design. The pod and locations are cool to look at and take in. The only bug we encountered was if we fly out of the pod on the Trashteriod, we fell through the ground when we should land. Keep up the good work. This is excellent!

Hi! I am loving the game so far!! One question, how do I save where I stopped? I tried to find a save point but couldn't see one, and every time I reopen the game I have to start over :( Is the game meant to be a one sitting play? Once again, love the game so far! It's super cute and fun :))

The demo is indeed meant to be a one sitting play - roughly about 30-40mins duration to get any of the endings, on the other hand - the full game will feature a saving system :)

Linux user here. This game looks awesome and I'm hearing super positive things, but when emulating it with WINE I just get a purple screen.

but, why is space?
The game is somewhat reminiscent of Outer Wilds
It totally is! The space travel, the home planet, the musicians - they're all hugely inspired by Outer Wilds, and also many other games like Elden Ring, Toem, Hollow Kinght, Undertale and many more :D
I played and I really enjoyed the game luck in development.
ITS REALLY GOOD
but i have some criticism when ever the player is is close to the cosmi cat it makes a space noise i suggest you find a way to get rid of it or implement it better, the reason why I suggest that is cause when i play games i usually listen to the back round music they have but while i was playing every time i get close to the cosmi cat their space sounds of ruin the vibe Secondly i recommend you make the ladder to the stairs more noticeable cause I got a bit stuck not knowing where to get the tool box. but that is just my critic but i want to tell you all that YOU GUYS AMAZINGLY GREAT like legit am glad i got to experience this :DD

i have a question i am working on a big beautifull game but i am scared that i put soo much work on it and no one will play it. how did you promote your game? how did you make your game popular.
Idk about promotion and stuff, but bro, tell me the name or an insta page or anything I could use to find your game, Ill play it, and tell all of my (very few) friends about it <3
Hi! We're still learning all of these things ourselves, so do take this with a grain of salt - we promoted the demo organically by doing a simultaneous post on as many relevant platform/ social media as possible, joining an event during this period or announcing the game during the event helps get the word out too! In our case it's really fortunate that the timing was perfect, as we released the demo and showcased it in Game Connection & GDC all in the same week :)
All in all - don't be afraid to put your work out there! it's always better to get harsh & productive feedback from the few that does play the game (especially in early stages), in comparison to waiting for the game to be 'perfect' and risk not having any input from anyone at all. So just go for it!

I'm better at other games than this, and I know that you have a lot of positive comments but.. I was stuck on the first planet T-T Do you mind, idk, explaining the first steps to completing Dark Soils? Or do you recommend I watch a specific YouTube video on the game? Love the game style tho.
Hii, thanks for trying out the demo! Can you tell us which part got you stuck in Dark Soils?
Here's a simple guide to get you started:
- Use the telescope and follow the source of the sound.
- Get 2 items, return to the Pod.
- Go down the stairs on the Well to get a Toolbox.
- Return to your Pod and fix the engine with the Toolbox.
- Sit on the Pod chair and you're ready to blast off and explore!
If you're feeling lost again, check your Journal or feel free to contact us again. We got a discord for all game-related discussions! :D
